Out and About in DC: Part 4

Follow along as our classes and clubs draw upon the region's myriad resources, often accessible thanks to the Van Ness Metro and numerous bus lines.
Maureen's Art History course continued their tour of DC-area museums with a visit to the National Gallery of Art's East Wing to examine Modern Art, including the work of Alma Thomas and Cy Twombly, followed by a visit to the "Call to Create: Black Artists of the American South" exhibit (extended through December 31!).
 
Oral History in the DMV (11th & 12th grade History elective) headed to Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library to visit the local history exhibit, which spotlights local activism, politics, and even a bit of Go-Go. They walked around the neighborhood and observed the architectural shifts due to the gentrification of Chinatown.
