Bengal Beat: Winter Mid-Season

Swimming - MS
Bengals took to the pool at Lowell School last week, where top finishes included Ari K. '29 and Morgan L. C. '30, 1st and 2nd in 96 Yard IM boys and girls races respectively. With 20 swimmers in the middle school, the future looks bright for Burke swimming. (Also working the Lowell meet? Dana M. '19!)
Swimming - HS
Competing against some much larger schools, Burke took 2nd overall on January 22 at Trinity Washington University. Top finishers included Jack J. '26 (1st in the 100 back; 2nd in the 200 free), Max F. C. '25 (1st in the 200 IM; 3rd in the 100 back), Declan M. S. '28 (3rd in the 200 IM), Campbell S. '25 (2nd in the 100 Fly), Will K. '27 and Sophia M. '25 (2nd in the men's and women's 100 free), Odin G. '27 (1st in the men's 500 free), and Miriam T. '26 (1st in the women's 500 free; 3rd in the 100 breast). Relay teams also took 2nd in three different races.

Basketball - Girls Varsity
The Bengals have won their last two games, with a large margin on the road versus McLean School (42-17) last week. Earlier this week, they persevered in a closely fought home game, ultimately coming away with a 37-34 win!

Basketball - Boys JV
Cheers to Miguel C. '28, who scored a staggering 40 points (one of the highest single-game totals in recent memory) when the Bengals took on Field yesterday!

Basketball - Girls MS
Last year's conference championship finalists are keeping it up! The Bengals boast 7-3 record (as of this Wednesday afternoon) and have won their last three games in a row by increasing margins, including a 31-10 win against Washington Christian on January 24.
