Student Spotlights - September 2024
Highlighting students' creative and athletic pursuits outside the classroom.
Nahla F. '30 is both artist and entrepreneur! Along with mother Whitney, Nahla makes and sells handcrafted pieces, including detailed crochet creatures. At Celebrate Van Ness Main Street, she was drawing a crowd, while working alongside adult professional artisans. (Amy R. P'27 stopped by and took this photo.)
Jessica B. '29 (pictured at center) performed as Teen Angel in the musical Grease: Teen Edition at Next Stop Theater Company this August. After a full summer of rehearsals, the cast performed seven sold-old shows in Herndon, VA. At Burke, Jessica's theatrical credits have included Margot in Legally Blonde Jr. and Olivia Warbucks in Annie Jr. last spring.
Congratulations to cross country standout Eliza G. '25, who completed her first half-marathon this past weekend, running in the age 15-19 division at the DC Half on September 15. Just one day prior, she led the Bengal contigent at the MSD XC Invitational in Frederick!
