On Food Justice

Throughout the school year, the 9th grade explores food justice in the DC region, including through direct service with longtime partner Capital Area Food Bank – where 9th graders spent a full day on the Wednesday or Friday before break.
According to the Community Service Center at Boston University, the food justice movement "aims to address disparities in food access, particularly for communities of color and low-income communities, by examining the structural roots of our food system."
