Support and Accountability
On November 22-23, high school students, including Avery D. '27, Gabrielle B. '28, and Jack J. '26, attended the GDS Summit on Sexual Assault & Consent, along with Curtis (History), Dennis (PE), Ginger (History), and Sharielle (Equity, Inclusion & Civic Engagement).
The conference included a screening of Athlete A, advice from survivors, and workshops led by 35 guest speakers from around the country. The conference ended with a keynote speech by survivor, gymnast, and whistleblower Maggie Nichols.
Students and staff left with a deeper understanding of consent, how to hold yourself and others accountable, and how to support survivors.
